William "Bill" Fredrick Kleinschmidt, 85, of Clarksville, formerly of Nashua, died Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville.
Bill was born December 11, 1931, in Allison, Iowa, the son of Eldon and Effie (Rewerts) Kleinschmidt. He attended Waverly-Shell Rock Schools through the 8th grade. On February 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Dunn in Waterloo, Iowa. Over the years the couple would make their home in Waterloo, Shell Rock, Clarksville, New Hampton and Nashua. Bill worked at Shield Bantam in Waverly, John Deere in Waterloo and owned and operated Kleinschmidt Excavating. He would continue to farm and drive truck until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gambling.
Bill is survived by his five children; Mike (Debbie) Kleinschmidt of New Hampton, Tim (Marcia) Kleinschmidt of Ionia, Iowa, Connie (Martin) Worster of Fort Collins, Colorado, Pete (Cathy) Kleinschmidt of Austin, Minnesota, and Cindy (Dwayne) Wordes of Clarksville, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, two brothers; Gaylen (Maggie) Kleinschmidt of Clarksville, Iowa and Dean (Sharol) Kleinschmidt of Cedar City, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, and two daughters in infancy; Susan and Karen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Father David Ambrosy officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and for an hour prior to services on Tuesday.
