Obituary

Warren Oscar “Fuzzy” Nolte, 80, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease which had been diagnosed in 2001.

Warren was born on November 28, 1938, in Franklin County on the family farm near Dumont, Iowa. He was born to Wilma Lorraine (Hudson) and Austin Ernest Nolte. Warren and twin brother, Wayne, attended grade school in Aredale. They then attended country schools before living with their Aunt Irene, Uncle Lee Albers and cousin Larry Albers on a farm south of Waverly from 1951 - graduating from Waverly High School in 1957.

In April of 1958, Warren started working for Waterloo John Deere Tractor in Department 59-B. Later, he drove a straight truck between the three Waterloo plants. At the age of 57, after 38 years of employment, Warren retired.

Warren and his high school sweet-heart, Sharron Joy Chestnut (class of 1958), married on January 18, 1959, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly. His family was always a number one priority in his life. Warren was kind, gentle, soft spoken and a man of few words, who loved his growing family very much. He liked to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine and tinkering with his motorcycle that he rode to work every day and his '55 Chevy. His favorite pastime was listening to music - primarily country and 50's music. He was the happiest when he was seated on the bleachers watching any youth sporting event - most especially those with his kids and grandkids.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of nearly 60 years, Sharron; son Daniel Nolte of Ames; daughter Denise (Gary) Scott of Sioux City, granddaughter Kristi Smith, great-grandchildren Quinn and twins, Agytha and Wyatt (Bryan, Lilly and Jordyn Pickering) of Eldora; daughter Sheri (Christian) Nolte-Ochoa of Waverly, grandson Andrew (Kristin) Nolte of Waverly, granddaughters Jessica Nolte (Brandon Heckenlively) of Waterloo and Amanda and Anna Ostman of Waverly; son Charles (Donnet) Nolte, granddaughters Caitlyn, Abby and Breanna Nolte of Des Moines; twin brother Wayne (Sally) Nolte of Waverly; aunt Eunice Nolte of Waverly; uncle Lowell "Happy" Hudson of Dumont; mother-in-law Velma Chestnut of Ankeny He was preceded in death by his parents Austin (Bonnie) Nolte and Wilma (Charles "Chuck") Hill; sister-in-law Judy Nolte; nephews Allen and David Nolte; great-nephew Josh Young; uncle Roland Nolte; uncle and aunt Lee and Irene Albers; Hudson uncles and aunts Hillis, Mike, Carl, Fred, Dale, Irma, June, Doris and Alene; and father-in-law Vercell Chestnut.
