Sally Schipper, 71, of New Hartford, Iowa passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence.
Sally Diane Schipper was born on January 1, 1947, the daughter of Delos Harold and Irene Jane (Pruisner) Thorne in rural Parkersburg, Iowa. She graduated from New Hartford High School in 1965. On June 10, 1966, she was united in marriage to Roger Schipper in Kelsey, Iowa. Sally worked at Santa Claus Industries in Waterloo, Iowa and then at the New Hartford School District from 1980 until retiring in 2008.
Her favorite pastime was playing cards with her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, and playing Bingo.
Survivors are her daughter, Kim (Gary) Cordes of New Hartford, Iowa; son, Dennis (Amy) Schipper of Belleville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Alyssa (Jordan) Palmer, Bo Cordes, Derek Schipper, Morgan Schipper and Hailey Schipper; great granddaughter, Adilynn Palmer and another due in October; three brothers, Danny (Sharron) Adelmund of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Doug (Mary) Thorne of Evansdale, Iowa and Jack (Lori) Adelmund of North Port, Florida and sister, Carolyn Mulford of New Hartford, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-dad, Jake Adelmund; her husband, Roger Schipper on June 24, 2002; brother, Darrell Adelmund and sister, Mary Fuller.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 am at the New Hartford United Methodist Church in New Hartford with Pastor Jerry Avise-Rouse officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the New Hartford United Methodist Church.
