Robert A. Gram, 88, of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly.
Robert Arthur Gram was born on August 25, 1930, the son of Arthur and Ferne (Leversee) Gram in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was baptized at United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On June 4, 1951, he enlisted in the Army, serving during the Korean Conflict until his discharge on May 22, 1953. He was united in marriage to Maxine Renken at the Ackley Presbyterian Church on June 10, 1956. Bob was employed at Waverly Motor Company, Bud and Bob’s Service, Bob’s Service and then at Terex. Retiring from Terex in 1995.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly. Bob enjoyed doing wood working, anything to do with automobiles and traveling with his wife, Maxine in all states but, Alaska.
Survivors are his wife, Maxine Gram of Waverly, Iowa; three daughters, Julie (J.R.) Dietl of O’Fallon, Illinois, Janene (Howard) Israel of McAllen, Texas and Janie Hisey of Covington, Georgia; three grandchildren, Kyle Kern, Matthew Dietl and Erika Hisey and two sisters, Betty (William) Shook of Readlyn, Iowa and Barbara (John) Weers of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Mike Hisey.
Family conducted memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Carolyn Bowers officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Gram family will greet family and friends from 1:00 pm on Monday until the service at the church.
