Peggy Betsinger Homeister, age 65, of Plainfield, Iowa, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly.
Peggy was born January 23, 1947, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Dora (Stafford) Betsinger. She was raised in the Plainfield area and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1965. Peggy went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa where she graduated in 1969, with her Bachelors in Elementary Education. She then taught 4th grade at Fairbank Elementary for 5 years. On May 11th, 1971, she was united in marriage to Lester Homeister at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly. She spent the rest of her life as a Domestic Engineer raising their children in the cities of Clarksville, Plainfield, and Waverly, Iowa; Tallmadge, Ohio; Greenfield, Indiana; Bowling Green, Ohio; and Bessemer, Alabama.
Peggy was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Her enjoyments included reading, horses, children, and flowers, however, what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family.
Peggy's memory is honored by her husband Lester Homeister of Plainfield; a son, Heath (Michelle) Homeister of Tallmadge, Ohio; a daughter, Megan Homeister of Tallmadge, Ohio; a brother, Charles (Susie) Smith of San Antonio, Texas; and two sisters, Patricia (Paul) Homeister of Waverly and Sandra (Michael) Denington of Waverly. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Tommy and Leland Betsinger.
Peggy has been cremated and there will be a gathering of family and friends in her honor on Wednesday, April 18th, at the United Methodist Church in Plainfield from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to 1st National Bank, 620 1st Street, P.O.
