Micheal Roelf Fishel, 81, of Allison, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.
Micheal was born on January 28, 1938, in Waverly, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. Fishel and Pearl L. (Roelf) Fishel and a brother, Craig C. Fishel. He graduated from Allison High School in 1956. While attending Michigan State University, he met his wife of Almost 59 years, Margaret Angie (Grace) Fishel. They welcomed sons, Micheal Roelf (Carla) Fishel Jr. and Shawn Patrick Fishel; grandchildren, Anna Carlena, Micheal Joseph and Matthew Ryan; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel Thomas and Elizabeth Faith Beyer added more joy to their lives.
Micheal (Mick to everyone) began his business, M. R. FISHEL CONSTRUCTION, in 1967 and FISHEL ASPHALT in 1983. They were sold in 2006 to CESSFORD CONSTRUCTION. He continued working for the new owner for two additional years. His retirement allowed he and his wife years of enjoyment with family and friends.
Mick always loved to fish, hunt, construct race cars and watch them perform, read everything connected to these interests, and happily discuss the information with fellow enthusiasts. He loved the time in the woodland property….watching Mother Nature’s many gifts to the area. His keen interest in politics has kept him well versed and he shared his opinions with those of either party. His quick mind and sharp wit have been enjoyed and appreciated by everyone….especially his wife.
