Marjory A. Milius, 79, of Ennis, Texas and formerly of Waverly, Iowa, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at the RHD Memorial Center in Farmers Branch, Texas.
She was born on March 15, 1926 in Greene, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Grace (Bullen) Bruns. At a young age she moved with her family to Waterloo where she attended school, graduating from West High School in 1945. Marjory then went to work as an over seas operator for Northwestern Bell, connecting service men and women to their families. On June 22, 1947 she was united in marriage to Donald A. Milius. The couple made their home on a farm southeast of Denver where they farmed the land and raised livestock. The couple later divorced, but kept the farm in the family, where son Steve currently resides. Following their divorce, Marjory moved to Waverly where she lived until August of 1999 when she moved to the Dallas, Texas area to live closer to her daughter.
Marjory enjoyed crafts and fancywork, including embroidering, crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and baking.
Marjory is survived by her three children, Gloria Perry of Carrollton, Texas, Allan & Rhonda Milius of Crewe, Virginia, Steve Milius of Denver, Iowa; four grandchildren, Mark & Clara Perry of Waxahachie, Texas, Scott & Matilda Perry of Hudsonville, Michigan, Virginia Milius of Crewe, Virginia, Renee Milius of Golden Valley, Minnesota; one great grandson, Austin Adams; one nephew, Keith Bruns of Randalia, Iowa and by her former husband, Donald of Denver, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, James Lee Perry; her son-in-law, David E. Perry; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Milius; two brothers, Leo Bruns Jr. and one in infancy; two sisters, Miriam Elinor Minkler and one in infancy; and one nephew, Dwight Pierce.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Hope
Community Church, Bremer north of Waverly, with Pastor Nathan N. Frazee officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the services.
