Linda Lee Schmidt, 55, of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of Janesville, passed away at her house on May 23, 2018.
Linda was born on September 26, 1962, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Oma Fay (Ratliff) and Lloyd Schmidt. She attended school in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1981. Linda was an accounting administrator at Tyson (formerly IBP) from May of 1990, until the time of her death.
Linda enjoyed theater and musicals, reading, and watching movies. She also treasured time spent with family.
Linda is survived by two sisters-in-law, Pamela Schmidt of Janesville, IA and Carol Schmidt of Scottsdale, AZ; a nephew, Brock Schmidt of New Hampton, IA; a niece, Laurinda (Schmidt) Karston of Chicago, IL; two great-nieces, Addison and Evelyn Schmidt; two great-nephews, Isaac and Jude Karston; and two aunts, Beverly Schmidt of Waverly, IA, and JoAnn Sells of Clear Lake, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John and Jimmie Schmidt.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Janesville United Methodist Church in Janesville, Iowa, on June 23, 2018. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, rural Janesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
