LeAnn L. Meier, 69, of Shell Rock, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa from complications of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
LeAnn Lois Meier was born on March 21, 1949, the daughter of George and Beulah (Hartema) Lindaman in Waverly, Iowa. She graduated from WSR High School in 1967. On July 26, 1969, she was united in marriage to Charles Meier at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clarksville, Iowa. LeAnn worked for many different businesses in the area, most recently at State Bank in Waverly.
She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly and the VFW Auxiliary, Post #2208. She enjoyed making crafts, scrapbooking, and playing games and cards. The couple also enjoyed wintering in Mission, Texas for 15 years. However, LeAnn’s great passion was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
Survivors are her husband, Charles Meier of Shell Rock, Iowa; son, Chad (Amy) Meier of Shell Rock, Iowa; two daughters, Kristin (Cherrish) Vaidiyan of Pella, Iowa and Nicole (Brent) Dietz of Shell Rock, Iowa; and 9 grandchildren, Collin (Bethany), Levi and Josie Meier, Kaeleigh, Cole and Caleb DeWaard, Kyah Vaidiyan, Owen and Kinley Dietz. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ronda Osgood and a great granddaughter, Sophie Meier.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Jon M. Ellingworth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery - Artesian rural Waverly. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 8th from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa and also an hour prior the service on Monday at the church.
