Kenneth LeRoy Niedert, 82, of Denver, Iowa passed away on December 13, 2018, at his home.
Ken was born on July 9, 1936, in Fairbank, Iowa, the son of Harvey and Edna Mae (Kerns) Niedert. He was baptized on August 9, 1936 at the Lutheran church in Oelwein and confirmed on April 2, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairbank. He attended country school near Fairbank and graduated from Oran High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Donna Erhardt on August 12, 1956. Ken drove semi in the area for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he had worked the last fifteen years with Crouse-Cartage Company. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. Ken will be remembered as always making sure he drove a clean car.
Ken is survived by his wife, Donna Niedert of Denver; a son, Kevin (Judy) Niedert of Tripoli; and two grandsons, Kendall and Keith Niedert. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evonda Niebuhr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Denver with Rev. Craig R. Henderson officiating. Burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Denver. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver and also for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
