Kathryn Mary Ellerman, 69, of Allison, Iowa, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison.
Kathy was born on February 17, 1948, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Groen) Ellerman. She lived in Plainfield where she was baptized at Plainfield United Methodist Church and attended the Plainfield Schools for a short time. In 1994, Kathy moved to the Rehabilitation Center of Allison.
Kathy loved people and will be remembered for her friendly hello’s when people visited the Rehabilitation Center. She also enjoyed puzzles, music, balloons, and time spent with family and friends.
Kathy’s memory is honored by: two sisters, Patricia Mennenga of Waverly, Iowa and Glenda (Virgil) Lass of Sun City, Arizona; a niece, Sherri (Brad) Mansell; and three nephews, Rick (Sherri) Mennenga, Mike (Cindi) Mennenga, and Mike (Kim) Kelly. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Donald Mennenga.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Dan Eloe Officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Memory Gardens Cemetery in Charles City, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
