Joyce E. Stacy, 77, of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her residence in Waverly.
Joyce Elaine Stacy was born on July 4, 1941, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Johnson) Brummond. She grew up in New Hampton and graduated from the New Hampton High School in 1959. On July 4, 1959, Joyce was united in marriage to James Floyd German. They had two sons, James Edward and Joseph Jay. In 1961, they moved to Waverly and Joyce worked for NAPA Auto Parts. James passed away in 1978. In May 1983, Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Stacy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Joyce gained two step-sons, Larry & Roger Stacy. She continued working for NAPA.
Joyce was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly. She enjoyed her job, time with family, gambling, puzzles, and crocheting.
Survivors are her husband, Don Stacy of Waverly; two sons, James (Amy) German of Sioux City, Iowa and Joseph (Shelly) German of Huntsville, Alabama; two step-sons, Larry (Julie) Stacy of Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Roger (Corrine) Stacy of Nashua, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Shirley (Roger) Regel of Charles City, Iowa; and three brothers, Robert (Peg) Brummond of New Hampton, Iowa, James Brummond of New Hampton, Iowa, and Glen (Beth) Brummond of Fairbanks, Alaska. She was preceded in death by: her parents; step-father, Gerald Brummond; her first husband; and a brother, Edward Brummond.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly with Father David Ambrosy presiding. Burial will be at New Hampton Cemetery in New Hampton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also an hour to the Mass at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Stacy family for a later designation and online condolences for Joyce may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
