John Hubert "Johnny" Krull, age 72, of Waverly, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Tripoli Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tripoli, Iowa.
John was born on December, 14, 1940, in Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of Harm and Irene (Bleeker) Krull. He was raised in rural Grundy Center and graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1960. On September 20, 1961, John was united in marriage to Karen Crosser in Eldora, Iowa. The couple began their marriage farming the home place in Grundy Center, they then moved to Waterloo in 1964 and John went to work at Rath Packing in Waterloo, in 1965, John took a job with John Deere in Waterloo and shortly thereafter the couple moved to New Hartford until 1977, when they moved to their current home north of Waverly. John Retired from John Deere in 1994. After retiring from Deere he worked at the Mill in Nashua for a few years and then at Wal-Mart in Waverly from 2006 – 2011.
John was a member of UAW 838. His enjoyments included wildlife, farming, vacationing with family, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
John's memory is honored by: his wife Karen of Waverly; four children; Kim (Mike) Plung of LaVergne, Tennessee, Karla (Jim) Marks of Waverly, Melissa (Brian) Lumley of Nashua, and Steve (Annie) Krull of Ionia; fifteen grandchildren, Brett, Brandon, Joshua, Trisha, Matthew, Kyle, Colin, Laine, Stephanie, Allie, Todd, Kimmie, Samantha, Johnny, and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Payden, Braydon, Clara, and Kelsie; a brother, Harm (Esther) Krull of Parkersburg; and five sisters, Rena Mott of Melvern, Harriet (Jim) Bowen of Reinbeck, Dena (Warren) Lindaman of Wellsburg, Jane (Jack) Geer of Rockwell, and Mary Ann (Ernie) Norris of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly where the family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, at 10:30 am at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Bill Carpenter officiating.
