Harold H. Biermann, 81 of Tripoli and formerly of Frederika, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Tripoli Nursing and Rehab.
Harold was born on July 2, 1937, Frederika Township, the son of Glen and Thelma (Bolte) Biermann. He attended school in Sumner till the ninth grade and later helped his family on the farm. Harold was united in marriage to Jean Sauerbrei on December 7, 1958, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli.
Harold worked at John Deere in Waterloo from 1965 until his retirement on March 3, 1996. After retirement he worked at the Fredericksburg Co-Op in Bremer and mowed the cemeteries at St. John’s Lutheran, Frederika, St. John ‘s Lutheran Crane Creek and the Alcock Cemeteries. Harold was active with the 4th of July celebration in Frederika. Jean passed away on December 6, 1998.
Harold is survived by a daughter, Brenda Phelps of Evansdale; a son, Brad (Lynnette) Biermann of Bondurant; a son, Scott Biermann of Florida and a son, David (Sherry) Biermann of Fredericksburg; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Maxine Draker of Sumner and a sister-in-law, Sherlie Doepke of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean Biermann.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Frederika with Pastor Jane Harris officiating. Burial will be held in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Frederika. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also for one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
