Geraldine Lucille Moeller, 82, of Manhattan Beach, California and formerly of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2002, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California of natural causes.
Geraldine was born on January 4, 1920, in Denver, Iowa the daughter of Amos E. And Rose (Dos) McDonald. She was baptized by Rev. Schoenbaum in Denver and later confirmed at the Bremer Lutheran Church in Bremer, Iowa. She attended Parochial School in Bremer through the 8th grade and then attended Waverly High School. On February 20, 1938, she was united in marriage to Erhard Moeller at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Artesian, rural Waverly. The couple made their home in Artesian, where they worked with Erhard's parents in the F.F. Moeller general store. On December 6, 1942, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Daniel, who was born on the day of Erhard's mother's birth. They continued to run the general store until 1984, when Geraldine and Erhard closed the store and moved to Waverly, Iowa. Jerry and Erhard enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. In 1997, they moved to California to make their home with their son, Daniel.
She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Artesian, where she had served with the Ladies Aid of the church. She loved people, and very much enjoyed seeing her regular customers at the store. She and Erhard have enjoyed traveling, seeing most of the United States.
Jerry is survived by her husband, Erhard of Manhattan Beach, California; son, Daniel Moeller of Manhattan Beach, California; and by one bother, Ray McDonald and his wife, Dorothy of Waverly, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother, Morris McDonald.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Artesian rural Waverly with Rev. Keith Brustuen officiating. Burial will be in the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, Iowa. Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm with the family present from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, Decemeber 18, 2002 at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Wavelry, Iowa 352-1187
