George Soldwisch, 74, of Clarksville, Iowa and formerly from Shell Rock passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Clarksville, Iowa.
George R. Soldwisch was born on February 20, 1943, the son of Alfred and Velma (McRoberts) Soldwisch in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended school in the Finchford area. On May 9, 1976, he was united in marriage to Carol Neal in Shell Rock, Iowa. George was employed at John Deere and he also did some painting and sandblasting.
He enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with friends, John Wayne movies, fishing and his motorcycle trips.
Survivors are his wife, Carol Soldwisch of Shell Rock, Iowa; four daughters, Shelley Hulsing of Shell Rock, Iowa, Cindy (Mike) Gabe of Shell Rock, Iowa, Melinda (Ray) Cagley of Shell Rock, Iowa and Trisha (Jason) Miller of Charles City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Alysia (Aaron) Countryman, Lukas Sherburne, Travis Gabe, Sloan and Paiton Cagley; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Channing and Cael Countryman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
At George's request he has been cremated and George’s family will be holding a “Coffee with George” on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Boyd Building in Shell Rock, Iowa. Everyone is invited. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation and online condolences for George may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
