Fannie Holland, 86, of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Unity Point Health - Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Fannie Mae Holland was born on October 1, 1932, the daughter of Alex and Katie (Atkins) Wilson in Piedmont, Alabama. She graduated from Carver High School in Gadsden, Alabama in 1950 and then attended A & M College in Normal, Alabama. On October 22, 1955, she was united in marriage to Joe T. Holland in Chicago, Illinois. The couple lived in Illinois before moving to Waverly in 1968. Fannie worked at the Dressler Center providing day care and later at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly. Fannie enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching Soap Operas, however, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her five children: daughter, Bernadette (Lee) Graves of Whitsett, North Carolina; four sons, Bernard Holland of Waverly, Iowa, Vern (Lorraine) Holland of Clarksville, Iowa, Eddie (Sabine) Holland of San Antonio, Texas, and Joe (Kim) Holland Jr. of Farmington, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Holland Sr. on August 9, 2003; granddaughter, Kimberly Holland and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastors Ramona Bouzard and Larry Trachte officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10:00 am until the service at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa.
