Delores Mae Boger, 79, of Denver, Iowa, and formerly of Steamboat Rock, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home in Denver.
Dee was born on October 21, 1939, in Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of Winfred Alonzo and Lena Mae (Lloyd) Crosser. She graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1957. While in high school, Dee played on the State Championship Girls Basketball team for Steamboat Rock. She was united in marriage to Donald Lee Boger at her parent’s farm in rural Ackley on January 25, 1958. After their marriage, Dee worked at Unique Cleaners. She later was a bookkeeper for Uban Oil Co. and Mama Nicks in Waterloo. She retired from JCPenney in 2015 and from Mama Nicks in 2017.
Dee enjoyed camping, fishing, shopping and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Dee is survived by her husband, Donald Boger of Denver; a son, Dan Boger of Denver; a daughter, Debbie (Mike Kittleson) Stevenson of Cedar Falls; a son, Doug (Jeni) Boger of Denver; nine grandchildren, Tammy Stocks, Chris (Trusha) Shimp, Angie Shimp, Andy Shimp, Nickie (Adam) Kingdon, Shelly (Jamie) Masker, Chrissy (Justin) Laws, Melissa Boger, and Alivia Boger; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Crosser and Bob (Shirley) Crosser, both of Steamboat Rock; and a sister, Karen Krull of Nashua. She was preceded in death by her parents: sister, Barbara Colleen O’Brink; two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Crosser; two brothers-in-law, Bill O’Brink and John Krull; and a sister-in-law, Ella Crosser; a great grandson, Tanner and great-great grandchild, Oakleigh.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church in Waterloo with Pastor Kären Larson officiating. Burial will be held in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver and also for one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
