Cynthia Lynn “Cyndie” Tyler, 66, of Waverly, Iowa and formerly of Greeley, CO and Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, IA following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cyndie was born on July 10, 1952, in Greeley, CO, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Beach) Herdman. She attended the Greeley School System, graduating from the Greeley Central High School and then continued her education at the International School of Fine Arts & Fashion in Miami, FL. Cyndie was the owner of a men’s clothing store in Greeley, later moving the store to Scottsdale, AZ. She was also manager of the Tennis Club at the Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale. On September 20, 1996, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Steve Tyler in Cave Creek, AZ. The couple made their home in Arizona for many years before moving to Waverly, IA. While in Waverly, Cyndie worked in sales for the Waverly Newspapers.
Cyndie had a “quiet” time every evening before bed where she used her devotional book and her Bible. Growing up in Greeley she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She loved in Arizona and in her spare time, she loved traveling with Steve, entertaining friends and family at her home and spending time with her many nieces, nephews and her extended family through her marriage to Steve.
Cyndie is survived by her loving husband of over 22 years, Steve Tyler of Waverly, IA; her mother, Barbara Herdman of Greeley, CO; children through her marriage to Steve, Lori Lund of Phoenix, AZ, and Ryan Tyler (Crystal) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Blaine Herdman, and a sister, Jill Trotter (Mike), both of Greeley, CO. Cyndie was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Donald, and an unborn child.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley, CO. There will be no local services in Waverly. Inurnment will be in the Memorial Garden at Trinity Episcopal Church. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly or Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley.
