Barbara Jean Wedeking, 79, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Des Moines, Clarksville and Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the Legacy House in Ocala, Florida of natural causes.
Barb was born on April 27, 1927, in Griswold, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Gladys (Koehn) Puryear. Barb was baptized in Griswold where she attended grade school and Barb graduated from the Clarksville High School, Clarksville, Iowa in 1945. On July 18, 1946, Barbara was united in marriage to Glenn E. Wedeking in Clarksville, Iowa. Barb worked for the Honeywell Corporation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and also for Robert Lucas at the State House in Des Moines, retiring in July of 1989. Barb and Glenn moved to Ocala, Florida and Glenn died on May 29, 1998.
Barb enjoyed Line Dancing, Bingo, Movies and working on Crossword Puzzles.
Barb is survived by her four children; Douglas Glenn Wedeking of Des Moines, Iowa, Michael Paul Wedeking and his wife, Suzanne of Des Moines, Iowa, Vicki Lynn Burns-Jaffe and her husband, Richard of Pembroke, Florida and Lisa Ann Wedeking of Ocala, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday April 14, 2007, at 2:45 p.m. at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Public visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
