Billy Joe Miller, age 51, of New Hartford, Iowa, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017, in an automobile accident near Parkersburg, Iowa.
Billy was born on October 7, 1965, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Larry and Sharon (Reuter) Miller. He was raised in New Hartford and graduated from the New Hartford High School in 1984. Shortly after graduating he moved to Racine, Wisconsin where he drove semi for livestock trucking companies. Billy was united in marriage to Rana Weber in 1987, in Wisconsin, to this union two children were born. The couple would later divorce. He moved back to New Hartford in the 1990’s and continued to haul livestock and other work in the agricultural industry. In 2009, Billy was united in marriage to Kerry Berends in Parkersburg. A year later they would divorce. Billy was currently working for Arends Construction in Dike.
Billy enjoyed kayaking, horseback riding, and hanging out and having drinks with his friends.
Billy’s memory is honored by: his parents, Sharon and Larry Miller of New Hartford; two children, Shelby Miller of West Salem, Wisconsin and Dylan (Shayna) Miller of Lacrosse, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Brody, Kacie, and Madalyn Miller; two sisters, Tammy Dickinson of Iowa City and Dawn (David) Dennis of New Hartford; step-brother, James (Candy) Hagedorn of Gilbertville; two step-sisters, Robyn (Noel) Garbes of Solon and Jackie Anderson of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, at the United Methodist Church in New Hartford where the family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, at the United Methodist Church in New Hartford with Reverend Jerry Avise-Rouse officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford. Memorials may be directed to Billy’s family and online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
