Easton Thomas Amfahr, of Tripoli, Iowa, went to live with Jesus, on August 7, 2017, in the arms of his loving parents. Easton was born on August 2, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During his five days here on earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. Easton was baptized on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals. His life was a brief gift that will live on in our hearts forever.
Easton’s memory is honored by: his parents, Ben and Sarah (Cordes) Amfahr of Tripoli; a brother, Wyatt LeRoy Amfahr of Tripoli; grandparents, Tom and Cindy Amfahr of New Hampton, Wanda and Dennis Epley of Waverly, and Duane Cordes of Shell Rock; great-grandparents, Gerald and Donna Amfahr of Jesup and Mildred Bergmann of Waverly; an uncle, David Cordes of Waverly; and two aunts, Amy Amfahr of Waterloo and Lily and Bobby Whiteside of Clarksville. He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, LeRoy Bergmann, Christopher and Marion Cordes, Vernon and Lillian Sommerfelt, and Pearl Amfahr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, at St. John Lutheran Church-Western Douglas with Pastor Kim Thacker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday August 14, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Easton’s family and online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
